The Every Day in April challenge returns

Last March, a writer in one of my creative nonfiction workshops brought this article by Anne Lamott to class, prompting a discussion about the usefulness of community in supporting daily creative practice and inspiring me to create a Facebook group for local writers who pledged to write for at least 15 minutes every day during the month of April. Sort of because of National Poetry Month, sort of just because that’s where we were in the flow of time.

I’m refreshing that group this year, and hoping that new folks will join us. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’re in the middle of doing. If you’d like to jump in, just do. You can talk as much or as little as you want on the group’s wall about what’s happening for you. No prompts or formal check-ins. Just a bunch of people working alone together. Including me.

  1. Dear Rae,
Great idea. I’m committing to the fifteen minutes. I think that this is just what I
need to kick things into HIGH gear! Thanks for the challenge.

    as always,
